    Professor E A Nhalevilo holds a PhD in Science Education from the University of Technology,Australia. Currently she serves as the Director of the Center of Mozambican Studies and Ethnoscience,one of the research center of Universidade Pedagogica. She has been involved in research projects and research management in different roles and levels, including serving as the President of the

    Mozambican Association for Research in Mathematics, Science and Technology Education; being Co-leader of an international project (Mozambique/South Africa) funded by NRF and the National Research Fund of Mozambique (FNI) and as research fellow at University of Western Cape, South Africa. She is also a Member of the board of editors of the journal Cultural Studies in Science Education and a reviewer for accredited journals.

    She has diverse publications in peer-reviewed journals, an edited book,book chapters and has been keynote speaker in international conferences. Emilia has received two certificates of merit in Mozambique: The certificate of merit attributed by the Ministry of Science and Technology for the valuable contribution in development of Ethnobotanic in Mozambique and the Certificate of merit attributed by the Universidade Eduardo Mondlane in recognition for the valuable contribution in the development of High Education in Mozambique in 2011 and 2012 respectively.

    Her main area of interest and research focuses on integrating Indigenous Knowledge System in school curriculum and transformative Education.
